Chase Creek Smokehouse is a busy casual fine dining venue offering great service, food and ambience. Located in Chase, MI, we serve lunch and dinner and are fully licensed. Our kitchen closes at 10pm Monday through Saturday and 9pm on Sundays.
 

Duties & Responsibilities
 

We are seeking a qualified Prep Cook to join our small professional kitchen staff. The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and must be able to follow instructions. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also important. Hours are approximately 9am to 1pm varying days of the week. Excellent opportunity for retirees looking to work a few days a week.

Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment

Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)

Cook food in various utensils or grillers

Check food while cooking to stir or turn

Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen

Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

Check quality of ingredients

Monitor stock and notify managers when there are shortages

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Proven experience as cook

Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware

Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)

Ability to follow all sanitation procedures

Ability to work in a team environment

Very good communication skills

Excellent physical condition and stamina, must be able to lift 40#

Reliable transportation

Duties & Responsibilities 

Dishwasher responsibilities include collecting used dishes, plates and utensils, washing items by hand and stacking washed items appropriately. If you want to kickstart your career in the restaurant industry and be part of the behind-the-scenes operations, we’d like to meet you. 

Note that this role requires working in shifts and during evenings & weekends.

Ultimately, you’ll help provide an unforgettable dining experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Collect used kitchenware from kitchen areas and occasionally from dining area
• Wash items by hand 
• Store clean dishes and equipment appropriately
• Ensure there are always enough clean dishes and utensils, especially during peak hours
• Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) 
• Remove garbage regularly
• Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor
• Assist with kitchen prep work as necessary
